Ranking Every 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Card

The 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz release is widely considered one of the most important modern tennis card releases ever.

For many collectors, these are viewed as Alcaraz’s true “rookie-era” grail cards, especially considering how limited the release was and how iconic the original 2003 NetPro set has become within tennis collecting.

Outside of the superfractor base and superfractor autograph, there were 11 main versions of the 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz cards released. While there’s no objectively “correct” ranking, I thought it would be fun to rank all of them based on a combination of:

  • design,
  • collector appeal,
  • rarity,
  • historical significance,
  • and overall desirability.

1. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz '03 Retro Autograph Memorabilia /50

This is the king of the release in my opinion.

The card replicates the iconic 2003 NetPro design while also featuring:

  • an on-card autograph,
  • and a piece of memorabilia.

That combination is incredibly hard to beat.

The biggest criticism some collectors have is that the card is horizontal, which can sometimes be a little less desirable than vertical designs. But honestly, I still think it’s one of the best-looking tennis cards ever made.

These regularly sell for $20,000+ and can go significantly higher depending on the patch and grade.

If someone asked me what the definitive Alcaraz card is right now, this would probably be my answer.

2. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz '03 Retro Memorabilia /50

This is essentially the non-auto version of the card above.

Even without the autograph, I still absolutely love the design. The throwback 2003 NetPro styling just works incredibly well, and the memorabilia window gives the card a premium feel.

In some ways, this card almost feels underrated relative to the autograph version.

These typically sell for $2,500+ depending on grade and patch quality.

3 (Tie). 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Autograph Memorabilia /100

4 (Tie). 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Alternate Autograph Memorabilia /100

I’m combining these because the ranking really comes down to personal preference.

Both cards feature:

  • an on-card autograph,
  • memorabilia,
  • and a vertical RPA-style layout that honestly feels very similar to something you’d see in high-end Panini products like Immaculate.

Personally, I think NetPro did a fantastic job with these.

The patch cutout on the right side paired with the autograph underneath gives the cards a super premium look, and some of the patch variations are absolutely incredible.

These generally sell for $7,500+ depending on the grade and especially the patch quality.

If someone preferred one of these over the Retro Auto /50, I honestly wouldn’t argue too hard against it.

5. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Premium Rainbow Autograph /250

This might be one of the more controversial rankings on the list.

There is technically a rarer Premium Rainbow Autograph /100 (which I’ll rank next), but I personally prefer the design and image used on the /250 version.

The card features:

  • an on-card autograph,
  • a clean rainbow foil finish,
  • and one of my favorite Alcaraz images from the release.

Even with a larger print run of 250, these still generally sell for $3,000+ depending on grade.

6. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Premium Rainbow Autograph /100

This card is obviously rarer than the /250 and generally commands higher prices.

However, purely from a visual standpoint, I slightly prefer the /250 version.

That said, this is still an incredible card and one of the premier Alcaraz autos on the market.

These usually sell for around $5,000+ depending on grade.

7. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Memorabilia /100

This is essentially the memorabilia-only version of the autograph memorabilia cards ranked earlier.

I still think it’s a really attractive card, but personally I’d rather stretch for one of the autograph versions if possible.

Still, for collectors who want:

  • low print run memorabilia,
  • premium design,
  • and strong eye appeal,

this is a very solid option.

These generally sell for $1,000+ depending on grade.

8. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Base Green Shirt /2000

9. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz Base Red Shirt /2000

These are the two main base versions from the release.

Both are numbered to 2000 and serve as the more accessible entry point into the 2022 NetPro Alcaraz market.

Personally, I prefer the green shirt image over the red shirt, but this really comes down to collector preference.

These can usually be purchased for around $150+ depending on grade.

For newer collectors, I actually think these are pretty interesting because they still carry the importance of the 2022 NetPro release without requiring an enormous budget.

10. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz '03 Retro Celebration /500

11. 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz '03 Retro Action /500

These are probably the most difficult cards for me to rank.

On one hand, they are significantly rarer than the base cards, with print runs of only 500.

On the other hand, I’m personally just not as big of a fan of the overall design compared to the other cards in the release.

Between the two, I definitely prefer the Celebration image over the Action version.

These usually sell for around $250+ depending on grade.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think the 2022 NetPro Carlos Alcaraz release is one of the most important modern tennis card releases we’ve seen so far.

It combines:

  • low print runs,
  • on-card autos,
  • memorabilia,
  • strong photography,
  • and historical significance surrounding one of the faces of the next generation in tennis.

Even though there are only 11 main versions outside of the superfractors, the release still offers a surprisingly wide range of collector options depending on budget and preference.

And honestly, that’s part of what makes the set so fun to collect.
